My Story

I started this blog in January 2012, moved by the number of young women in my life who were seeking advice about various heart topics. It seemed like a good place to address one while simultaneously addressing many. The hope for this blog is to provide an anonymous place for readers as they join me in this journey of figuring out what it means to follow Jesus (including all the ugly, hard, raw parts). I hope to be transparent with you as I share my heart, my own experiences and my discoveries with you several times a week. I hope to challenge you, to break down cliches and guidelines that we've centered our lives around that aren't necessarily true, and to remind you that you're not alone in the battles (especially during the times when you feel most 'crazy'). Ultimately, my prayer is that this would be a forum in which the Gospel moves you to a better, that you would be reminded of the second chances we continually find in Jesus Christ, and that we would all live out of that abundantly.

A little background about me: I spent the last decade serving at a camp in the middle-of-nowhere Texas. I moved from being a Summer Camp Counselor of junior high and high school students to an Assistant Summer Camp Director full-time. While my direct ministry for the last 6+ years has been toward college students, I was also responsible for writing curriculum and Bible studies that catered to junior high and high school students as well as occasionally speaking to them during camp sessions.

I moved to the Boston area in January 2013 to work on getting my Master of Arts in Counseling at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. The Lord had other plans for me. I accepted a job offer at a new start-up camp in New Mexico and began in August 2013 as Group Camp Director. While still technically a student, I'm in the midst of deciding whether or not I will continue as a student from afar or take a break and later discern if further school is the best option in my future.

I'm always open to blog topics and love your feedback as I write and grow. Please feel free to ask any questions or let me know if there's ever anything I can do for you or pray for you about.

Thanks for journeying with me.
